Looking at the economic relationship between Brazil and Japan, it is clear that this relationship has consisted basically of Brazil exporting primary products to, and importing manufactured goods from, Japan. Since the establishment of Mitsubishi Corporation do Brasil in the early 50's, we have been monitoring the relationship between these two countries, contributing to their economic growth by acting as an agent for trade between them. The economic ties uniting Brazil and Japan will get stronger and stronger from here on. Brazil is no longer seen solely as a supplier of primary products, but is now considered a strategic player for the production and export of manufactured goods, representing a huge consumer market for many sectors. The massive foreign direct investments that have been made in Brazil in recent years illustrate this change. And such changes also affect Mitsubishi Corporation do Brasil.
